Families trust schools with what matters most to them. During a safety threat, parents and staff deserve timely and accurate information. Law enforcement and school leaders need clear procedures and strong partnerships. When any part of that system fails, the community loses trust and students are placed at risk.
AIA Partnership for School Safety was created so parents and community members have an organized way to raise concerns, ask important questions and help build better systems instead of working alone.
We focus on practical steps that protect students and rebuild trust in our schools:
• Support parents and educators after safety related incidents
• Review local safety procedures and communication timelines using public information
• Work with school districts, cities, counties and state agencies to identify gaps
• Lift the voices of teachers, staff and parents who report concerns
• Share clear, simple safety information that families can use
• Promote training and awareness events with local agencies
Our early work is focused on:
• Documenting safety and communication failures related to recent school incidents in Maverick County and surrounding areas
• Encouraging transparent communication between school districts, law enforcement and parents
• Supporting stronger state oversight so safety laws are followed in practice, not just on paper
AIA Partnership for School Safety is named in honor of Anasofia, Isabel and Aurora. The foundation was created to support safe and transparent learning environments for all students in South Texas. Our work is guided by parents, educators and community members who believe that every student deserves a safe classroom and every family deserves accurate information during safety incidents.
